We are an independent Fundamental Baptist church offering preaching, teaching and conservative music that glorifies the Lord. We exalt the only Savior, Jesus Christ, and help Christians walk daily with Him using fundamental preaching and teaching from the Word of God, the King James Bible.

Children Sunday School

The Sunday School hour is an exciting time for children! Their focus is Scripture memory, song time, and a message from God's Word, which often focuses on missions and reaching the world for Christ. The children's offerings are saved for a specific missionary child's needs or a special gift. Children learn to love God and hide his Word in their hearts.

 Children's Church

During the 11 o'clock hour, children under the age of 12 have classes to suit their individual needs. With the help of Joyful Life curriculum, they learn Biblical, applicable principles for their daily lives. Coordinating songs, Scripture verses, and activities are also a part of their agenda during Children's Church. Teachers are carefully screened and prayerfully dedicated to the children in their class!

Wednesday King’s Kids

Our Midweek service provides a wonderful children's program for ages 3-12! Again, Biblical principles are taught while coordinating Scripture, songs, stories, and activities reaffirm God's Word in this great ministry. The Patch the Pirate and Pewee Clubs sing once a month in the morning service, usually the first Sunday of each month. This allows the children an opportunity to worship the Lord through music in the church. It is a wonderful experience for the kids, and parents are privileged to see first hand the great things their children are learning! The older children will learn to have a daily, personal walk with God through daily devotions in their Sailor Log. Your child will never want to miss a Midweek service!

Infant Nursery

We offer a clean, comfortable nursery with loving and kind childcare providers. This allows parents the opportunity to listen to the preaching of God's Word and worship in the service without interruption.

 
Vacation Bible School

VBS is a very exciting time at CFBC! Our VBS is a one-week event at the end of July or first of August. We hold our VBS in the evening and even have a Friday night carnival, complete with "back-to-school" prizes. A king and queen is crowned each night for the boy and girl who bring the most visitors. One of the most anticipated events of the week is the Penny Offering - boys against girls! Children learn verses of Scripture, songs, and great Bible truths. They will enjoy meeting a variety of characters throughout the week, watching the skits, and so much more. It's an action packed week and an event that they won't soon forget!

Ladies
The ladies at Calvary First, Baptist Church enjoy a great time of fellowship as they serve the Lord together.  Almost each month, we gather at the church for a theme meeting with a Bible study and refreshments. We will travel together to a regional ladies conference each year to hear challenging messages from God's Word and enjoy a great time of fun together. In May, we will host a Mother/Daughter luncheon.

We enjoy the opportunity to minister to the needs of church members when they need meals during times of bereavement, sickness or hospitalization and recovery.  And we will celebrate those special moments in the lives of women by hosting bridal and baby showers. Preaching and Teaching
Through the practical, Bible preaching, families are being encouraged, spiritual needs are being met, and lives are being changed. Every week God's Word is opened and boldly proclaimed. Through the heart-warming, conservative music and the clear, Bible teaching and preaching in our services, your heart will be inspired to love and to respond to God. Each week, people are strengthened, encouraged, and drawn closer to Him through these special times together. Each service is carefully planned and prayed over so that God may work in your life!

ABC Discipleship Study
The "ABC's of Christian Growth" program is a Scriptural means of helping new Christians get on th  eir feet and begin walking with the Lord in the light of His Word.  There are 26 lessons in the program, beginning with "A"ssurance of Salvation - living a victorious Christian life through the assurance that the Spirit abides in your heart forever at the moment you accept to be your personal Savior.
Many of our members work on these lessons on their own. There are men and ladies' ABCs Sunday School classes on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. and on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Anyone is invited to participate in this thorough study.

Missions
The mission of the Church is missions.  Before ascending to the right hand of God, Jesus Christ commissioned His church to evangelize the world.  In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said:
           
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.         

           

This command, often labeled as the "Great Commission", is repeated in each of the gospel accounts and also in the book of Acts.  Calvary First, Baptist Church believes the "Great Commission", is personal, local, regional, national and global in scope.
1. Personal: Calvary First, Baptist Church members will seek to win family members, co-workers and friends to Christ and also establish relationships with others in an effort to win them to Christ.  New converts should be helped and discipled.

2. Local: Pastor Hite will lead a weekly churchwide door-to-door evangelism effort in neighborhoods surrounding the church.  Calvary First, Baptist Church will host special days inviting new people to visit the church.

Weekly churchwide doorknocking currently takes place on Saturdays from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

3. Regional: Assist other church planters that come to MS with door-to-door tract distribution and other assistance as Calvary First, Baptist Church is able to provide.

4. National: Supporting, preparing and sending missionaries to other areas of the United States.  Calvary First, Baptist Church will employ faith promise giving to support missionaries.  Calvary First, Baptist Church will also provide leadership training for those that seek to become missionaries.

5. Global: Supporting, preparing and sending missionaries to other countries.  Calvary First, Baptist Church will employ faith promise giving to support missionaries.  Calvary First, Baptist Church will also provide leadership training for those that seek to become missionaries.

Other Ministries

The Men
The men enjoy outings throughout the year! They will also journey to Memphis for some good southern BBQ and a trip to the K&G Men's clothing store. Father's Day offers a Father-Child grill dinner. And a Men's Retreat will be a time of spiritual enrichment and wonderful fellowship.

The Family
Building strong families is an important focus at Calvary First, Baptist Church. Game night once a month is a wonderful time of fellowship and fun for the whole family. Our July Picnic is  an anticipated event. Our Family Conference is another opportunity to grow spiritually and gain wisdom and insight into God's desire for a strong, Biblically based family.
Joshua 24:15 "....but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." 

The Marriage
Through strong marriages, a strong family can be built. Pastor Hite offers Biblical counseling to couples. Our couples' retreat will be one way we strive to strengthen relationships. Couples' date night, a time designed for couples to spend a few hours alone, is another aspect of Calvary First, Baptist Church ministry (childcare is provided at the church).
Genesis 2:23, 24 "And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

Outreach
On Saturday morning, we fulfill the great commission locally by inviting people in the Jackson area (our Jerusalem) to worship the Lord with us at Calvary First, Baptist Church and sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ with those who do not know him.
Acts 1:8 "...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

The Music
Worship is the act of loving and responding to God! We praise the Lord for the beautiful music program He has allowed Calvary First, Baptist Church to enjoy and worship through!
Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
